A coating is not a finish. It is the shelf life of the part in the field — and the one variable a buyer cannot verify by looking at it. Colour, gloss and thickness look identical whether the alloy is right or wrong.

Salt-spray data with the source named
Every figure we publish carries the coating thickness, the system and where the number came from. NanoGalv® in ASTM B117, by thickness: 5 µm — over 4,000 h; 8 µm — over 7,300 h; ≥ 10 µm — over 10,000 h; all from Modumetal test data, as the licensor of the technology.
A measurement of one of your parts
Bring a fastener — ours or anyone else's. We measure coating thickness and alloy composition by X-ray fluorescence, with standards traceable to an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, and send you the reading. Thickness alone says nothing about the alloy, and it is the alloy that corrodes.
The standards, not the adjectives
ASTM B841 for zinc-nickel — class, type and grade as your order specifies, including grade 10. ASTM B766 class 12 type II for cadmium. ASTM B1025-25 for nanostructured zinc-nickel. ASTM B849 and B850 for heat treatment, to the standard and class your specification calls for.

What does Sapucaia do?
We apply protective coatings to metal parts — mostly fasteners and components for oil and gas. Zinc-nickel to ASTM B841, cadmium to ASTM B766, nanostructured zinc-nickel to ASTM B1025-25, and fluoropolymer top coats. We have been operating since 1964, from Guarulhos, São Paulo, and we are ISO 9001:2015 certified.
What is NanoGalv®?
NanoGalv® is nanostructured zinc-nickel, specified under ASTM B1025-25. The layer is deposited in alternating nanoscale bands, so a defect makes corrosion travel between the bands instead of down to the steel. Sapucaia holds the exclusive licence for Brazil, from Modumetal. Salt spray to ASTM B117, by coating thickness: 5 µm — over 4,000 h; 8 µm — over 7,300 h; ≥ 10 µm — over 10,000 h. Can you work with parts made outside Brazil?
Send the technical drawing and the coating standard your end client requires, and our sales team comes back with the system, the class and the thickness. That is the conversation we would rather have than a price per kilo.
What should I bring to the meeting?
