Xylan 1424
High-performance fluoropolymer resin, anticorrosive and non-stick, with chemical and thermal resistance for a working range of −20 °C to 180 °C.
The 1424 is the water-based finish of the line. Over zinc-nickel, with a 16 µm top coat over an 8 to 15 µm base, the system sits above 3,500 h in ASTM B117 salt spray — the level Sapucaia specifies for the family of combined systems, the same as the system with the 1070, which covers a wider temperature range.
The non-stick property is what matters in process equipment: a surface that does not foul is a surface that needs no shutdown for cleaning. In a threaded joint, the same property is what lets the assembly be taken apart years later.
